The 2025 Retraining of Racehorses (RoR) Awards was not only a celebration but a salute to the adaptability and resilience of former racehorses. Held at the prestigious Cheltenham Racecourse, the event commemorated RoR's 25 years of dedication to retraining and rehoming retired racehorses. Prominent figures such as RoR Patron Zara Tindall and host Richard Phillips graced the event, as more than 200 guests from the racing and equestrian sector gathered to honor the prowess of these magnificent animals.The Importance of Retraining Programs

The highlight of the event was the Sir Peter O’Sullevan Charitable Trust RoR Community Impact Award, which went to Grace Muir of the HEROS Charity. HEROS, since its inception in 2006, has been an advocate for retrained racehorses and also offers valuable educational programs for young people. It's like making carrots part of a horse's diet—both beneficial and rewarding! Another notable accolade was the The Jockey Club RoR Horse of the Year Award, awarded to Master Wickham and his rider Claire Lewis. Initially a racing horse, Master Wickham now excels as a Grade A showjumper, showcasing the tremendous adaptability and multifaceted talent of former racehorses.Acknowledging Equine Achievements in Various Disciplines
