Frequently Asked Questions
What is the DFD lining in the Veredus Stable Boot Evo, and why does it matter?
DFD stands for Dry Fast Dry - a highly hydrophilic fabric that absorbs moisture generated by the horse's body and removes it from the skin, keeping the leg dry. Veredus states it has a higher moisture evacuation capacity than any natural or synthetic fibre.
Can the DFD pad be removed for washing or replacement?
Yes. The internal DFD lining pad is interchangeable and is fixed in place with velcro, so it can be removed and replaced easily.
How does the Stable Boot Evo help with post-work swelling?
The boot has a containment action for the tendon apparatus, which is designed to reduce the typical post-work swelling that can occur in the lower leg.
Is this boot suitable as a replacement for rest bandages?
Veredus describe it as a practical and effective alternative to traditional rest bandages, with the advantage that it can be put on and taken off quickly without the risk of incorrect bandage application.
Does the Stable Boot Evo offer any fetlock protection?
Yes. The boot includes polyurethane fetlock protection as part of its construction.
How is the boot secured on the horse's leg?
It fastens with velcro straps that include elastic support, and the closure also provides support for the suspensors.
