How to Use
- Open the halter out and identify the loop that forms the noseband and the section that passes behind the ears.
- Approach the animal calmly in a confined space or race, and steady it by the neck or under the jaw.
- Slip the noseband over the muzzle, then pass the headpiece up and behind the ears.
- Draw the adjustment through until the noseband sits on the solid part of the muzzle, clear of the nostrils, and the headpiece is snug but not tight.
- Lead from beside the shoulder using the free end of the rope, keeping the animal's head up and forward.
- If tying, use a quick-release knot at withers height or above, and never leave a haltered animal unattended.
- Remove the halter after use, shake off dirt and hang it up to dry.
