LeMieux Field Riding Boots - Regular Height, X-Slim Calf

The LeMieux Field Riding Boots are tall leather riding boots made from full grain premium leather with a rear YKK zip, elastic calf gussets and an X-Grip rubber sole. They are designed for riders who want a close-fitting, supportive long boot for schooling, hacking, jumping and competition, and this option is the Regular height with an X-Slim calf.

The 'fit and flex' construction pairs elasticated calf gussets with seamless elasticated front ankle lacing, so the boot hugs the leg without restricting ankle movement. A 5-density ergonomic footbed and breathable full leather lining make them best for riders spending long days in the saddle and around the yard.

How to Use

  1. Measure your foot length, your calf at its widest point over riding socks and breeches, and the height from the floor to the crease behind your knee with the heel flat.
  2. Compare your calf measurement against the X-Slim fitting before ordering; choose the Regular calf width if your measurement sits above the X-Slim range.
  3. Open the rear zip fully, slide the foot in and draw the zip up towards the knee, using the zip puller for leverage.
  4. Secure the concealed zip keeper and check the neoprene cover sits comfortably behind the knee.
  5. Wear the boots for short sessions at first so the leather softens and settles to your leg.
  6. After riding, brush off mud, dry naturally away from direct heat, condition the leather and store on boot trees.

FAQ

What is the difference between the Regular and X-Slim options?
Regular refers to the boot height and X-Slim refers to the calf width. This version is a Regular height boot cut with an X-Slim calf, so it suits riders with a slimmer lower leg.

Are these boots suitable for competition and schooling?
Yes. They are field boots designed for support and comfort across every equestrian discipline, with an integrated spur rest for schooling and competition work.

Will the boots feel too tall at first?
Leather field boots are usually cut slightly tall so they can drop and settle with wear. A little extra height at the back of the knee when new is normal, and the neoprene-cushioned cover helps prevent rubbing while they soften.

What should I do if I am between foot sizes?
If you are between sizes, or you ride in thicker socks through winter, take the larger size. The elasticated ankle lacing and elastic calf gussets allow a degree of flex, but the foot length itself should not be squeezed.

How grippy is the sole in wet weather?
The X-Grip rubber sole is designed for non-slip traction in every weather, and the linear tread pattern is shaped to interact with the grip on your stirrup footplate for secure foot placement.

How do I look after the leather?
Wipe away mud and dust after each ride, allow the boots to dry naturally away from direct heat, apply a suitable leather conditioner regularly and use boot trees or shapers to help hold the shape.
