How do I choose the right size?
Headcollars
Cameo headcollars run in the usual four UK bands — Small Pony, Pony, Cob and Full. As a rough guide, Small Pony suits small natives and youngsters, Pony fits most 12hh–14hh ponies, Cob covers chunkier ponies and smaller horses, and Full fits most 16hh-plus horses. Fit is more about head shape than height, so check that the noseband sits roughly two fingers below the cheekbone and that you can slide two fingers under the headpiece.
Rugs and exercise sheets
Cameo fleece rugs and coolers are sized in feet and inches. Measure along your horse from the centre of the chest, round the widest point of the shoulder and barrel, to the point of the buttock, then round to the nearest 3 inches. If your horse falls between two sizes, the larger one usually sits more comfortably over the shoulder. The Hi Viz Exercise Sheet in this collection uses named sizes rather than feet and inches, so check the size options on the product page before you order.
Boots and bonnets
Overreach boots are sold in Medium, Large and X-Large, and should sit just above the heel bulbs without touching the ground when the leg is loaded. Ear bonnets follow the same Pony, Cob and Full bands as headcollars.
How should I care for Cameo horsewear?
Brush dried mud off webbing headcollars and lead ropes before washing them cool by hand, then air dry away from direct heat so the webbing keeps its shape. Fleece rugs and coolers wash cool without fabric softener, which coats the fibres and stops them wicking. Waterproof exercise sheets should be sponged clean rather than machine washed where possible, and reproofed once water stops beading off the outer. Leather headcollars want a damp cloth and a regular conditioner rather than a soaking.
