Horseware Rider Clothing
What is Horseware rider clothing?
Horseware rider clothing is the range Horseware makes for you rather than for your horse — breeches, riding tights, everyday jackets, gilets and competition jackets. Everything here is built around the same idea: technical fabric that copes with wet, muddy yard work, cut so you can still ride in it. In this collection you will find denim breeches and full-seat breeches, four-way stretch riding tights, the showerproof Corrib Jacket for adults, a waterproof taped-seam Corrib Neon Jacket for children, and a navy competition jacket for the show ring. Prices start at £30.00 for the kids' Corrib Neon Jacket and run to £76.16 for the 4 in 1 Rambo Techno Jacket.

Breeches, tights or denim — what is the difference?
Riding tights
Riding tights are the lightest option. The Horseware Riding Tights are 90% nylon and 10% spandex with four-way stretch, cool mesh side panels and an antibacterial wicking fabric, which makes them the sensible pick for summer schooling, hot lessons and long hacks where a heavier breech would cook you. They have a smooth self-fabric waist, side pockets sized to take a phone, micro-fibre knee and inside-leg patches for durability, and UPF 30 sun protection.
Denim breeches
The Horseware Denim Breeches look like jeans but behave like breeches — a 65% cotton, 28% polyester and 7% elastane blend with four-way stretch, a full-stretch Daewoo® seat and jean-style detailing. Available in shades including Berry and Dark Slate, they are the piece most people reach for when they want to ride, do the school run and not change in between.
Full-seat breeches
The Horseware Denim Breeches Full Seat Limited Edition use the same cotton-blend stretch fabric in Dark Slate, with full-seat construction and a Gutos® clasp fastening at the front. A full seat gives a larger area of contact between you and the saddle across the seat and inner leg, which is what to look for if you do a lot of flatwork or are working on your position.
Which Horseware jacket keeps the rain out?
There are two different jobs here, and it is worth knowing which one you are buying for.
Showerproof covers you for a light shower or a damp half-hour in the yard. The Horseware Corrib Jacket sits in this group — a nylon-taslon outer with a 250g/m² anti-pilling polyester fleece lining, warm and comfortable, machine washable, and fine for most days between autumn and spring.
Waterproof means sustained rain. The Horseware 4 in 1 Rambo Techno Jacket is the one to choose for winter mucking out, long turnout rounds or standing at a competition in bad weather — it is waterproof and breathable at 2000mm/2000mvp, with waterproof zips, underarm vents, a removable hood and a removable reversible fleece inner. It is cut as a men's jacket, so check the measurements if you usually buy a ladies' fit.
For children, the Horseware Corrib Neon Jacket Kids is waterproof with taped seams and comes in fluorescent yellow with EN 471 pipings, which is a real advantage on dark winter afternoons and in the lorry park.
What should I wear to a show?
Most affiliated and unaffiliated classes expect a plain, dark, well-fitted jacket. The Horseware Ladies Horsewair Competition Jacket is navy blue, built from 3D Airmesh fabric with body-mapping inserts for airflow, and uses a power stretch fabric and sports-cut sleeve so your shoulders can move over a fence. Pair it with breeches in a light shade and check your society or show schedule for the exact dress code before you enter, since rules differ between disciplines and levels.
How do I get Horseware sizing right?
Horseware uses two systems in this collection. Jackets, tights and competition jackets run on letter sizes — XX-Small through to XX-Large — while the breeches run on numbered UK sizes such as 24, 26, 28 and 34. Measure your waist and your inside leg before ordering and compare against the size guide on the product page rather than guessing from your usual jeans size. Kids' items are sized by age, for example 5-6 years.
If you are between sizes or unsure which system applies to the item you want, get in touch and our team will help you work it out.
How do I look after Horseware riding clothes?
The Corrib Jacket, the Corrib Neon Jacket Kids and the 4 in 1 Rambo Techno Jacket are all listed as machine washable — wash cool, and knock the worst of the mud off first so it does not grind into the fabric. Avoid fabric softener on waterproof and showerproof layers, because it clogs the fabric and reduces water repellency. Dry naturally rather than on a hot radiator. Breeches and riding tights with stretch fabric last much longer if you skip the tumble dryer. For anything else, follow the care label on the garment.
Horseware rider clothing FAQs
Is Horseware rider clothing suitable for everyday yard wear?
Yes — that is largely what it is designed for. The Horseware Corrib Jacket is fleece-lined, showerproof and machine washable, and the Horseware Denim Breeches use a cotton blend with four-way stretch so they work for mucking out, riding and everything in between. If your yard time is genuinely wet rather than just damp, step up to the waterproof 4 in 1 Rambo Techno Jacket.
What is the cheapest Horseware item in this collection?
At the time of review the lowest in-stock price is £30.00 for the Horseware Corrib Neon Jacket Kids. Among adult items, the Horseware Corrib Jacket and the Horseware Riding Tights both start at £37.73. Prices and available sizes change as stock moves, so the product page always shows the current figure.
Do I need full-seat breeches or will regular breeches do?
Regular breeches such as the Horseware Denim Breeches are fine for hacking, general riding and everyday wear. Full-seat breeches like the Horseware Denim Breeches Full Seat Limited Edition give a larger area of contact with the saddle, which helps if you spend a lot of time doing flatwork or are working on stability in the saddle. Neither is a substitute for correct saddle fit and instruction.
Are Horseware riding tights warm enough for winter?
The Horseware Riding Tights are lightweight and breathable with mesh side panels, which makes them ideal for summer riding and warmer indoor schooling but thin for a cold day outdoors. For winter, the Horseware Denim Breeches give you more substance, and a waterproof layer such as the 4 in 1 Rambo Techno Jacket keeps the worst of the weather off on top.
Can I wear the Horseware competition jacket for dressage and showjumping?
The Horseware Ladies Horsewair Competition Jacket is a plain navy blue jacket, which is the standard look accepted across most disciplines and levels. Dress codes do vary between societies, disciplines and classes, so always check the schedule or rulebook for the event you are entering before you buy.
How should I wash Horseware jackets and breeches?
The Corrib Jacket, the kids' Corrib Neon Jacket and the 4 in 1 Rambo Techno Jacket are listed as machine washable. Brush off dried mud first, wash cool, and skip fabric softener on anything waterproof or showerproof because it reduces water repellency. Dry naturally and avoid the tumble dryer on stretch breeches and riding tights so the fabric keeps its shape. For everything else, check the care label on the garment.
