Leovet Mane, Tail, Coat & Skin Care
Leovet's mane, tail, coat and skin range covers four everyday jobs: getting knots out, washing, conditioning for shine, and looking after skin. If you buy one thing, make it a detangler — the Leovet 5 Star Detangler (550ml, £11.66) sprays straight onto a dry mane or tail so the brush slides through instead of snapping hair. There are 17 products in this collection and 9 are in stock right now, starting at £9.75.

What is the quickest way to get knots out of a mane or tail?
Spray a detangler onto the dry hair, leave it a minute, then work from the bottom of the tail upwards with your fingers first and a brush second. Pulling a brush down from the top is what snaps hair and thins a tail over a season. The Leovet 5 Star Detangler (550ml, £11.66) is the general-purpose choice; if your horse is dark, the Leovet Power Detangler For Dark Horses (500ml, £12.15) is the version made for those coats.
How often should I use one?
A light spray once or twice a week is plenty for most horses. Daily use is rarely needed, and over-brushing does more damage than the knots themselves.
Which shampoo and conditioner should I pick?
Leovet Shiny Shampoo (500ml, £9.75) is the straightforward everyday wash at the lowest price in this collection. Follow it with Leovet Silkcare Conditioner (500ml, £12.56) if you want the coat to feel softer and brush out more easily afterwards. For a tea-tree-based grooming wash-down, Leovet Tea Tree Grooming Lotion (500ml, £16.65) is the option in the range.
What about white legs and grey horses?
Leovet Shiny White Stain Eraser Spray (550ml, £12.82) is aimed at stable stains on white markings. Do the legs the night before a show rather than in the lorry park, so you are not fighting damp hair on the morning.
What can I use on skin my horse keeps rubbing?
These are grooming and skin-care products, not medicines — they are made to support the condition and comfort of normal skin, and none of them treat or cure a diagnosed skin problem. Leovet No Rub (500ml, £13.95) and Leovet Bio-Skin Oil (500ml, £19.76) are the two lines here for horses whose skin needs a bit of extra attention. If your horse has broken, bleeding, weeping or spreading skin, stop and call your vet before applying anything.
And for a horse that chews everything?
Leovet Anti-Bite C/W Sprayer (500ml, £12.15) comes with its own sprayer for bandages, rugs and stable woodwork. Always read the label for where it can and cannot be used.
How do I keep a coat looking good between shows?
Most of the shine comes from feeding, turnout and honest elbow grease — grooming products finish the job rather than replace it. A weekly wash, a conditioner through the mane and tail, and a detangler before you brush will keep hair length on the horse instead of on the yard floor. Patch-test anything new on a small area first, especially on a horse you know reacts to things.
Leovet mane, tail, coat & skin care FAQs
What is the cheapest Leovet product in this collection?
Leovet Shiny Shampoo in 500ml at £9.75 is the lowest-priced product in stock in this collection. The range runs from there up to Leovet Bio-Skin Oil at £19.76 for 500ml.
Which Leovet detangler is right for a dark horse?
Leovet Power Detangler For Dark Horses (500ml, £12.15) is the version made for dark coats and black manes and tails. For any colour, the Leovet 5 Star Detangler (550ml, £11.66) is the all-round choice.
Do I put detangler on a wet or dry tail?
Dry is the usual way. Spray it through, give it a minute to work, then separate the knots with your fingers from the bottom of the tail upwards before you pick up a brush. Always follow the directions on the bottle.
Will these products sort out my horse's itchy skin?
They are grooming and skin-care products that support the comfort and condition of normal skin — they do not diagnose, treat or cure a skin condition. Leovet No Rub (500ml, £13.95) and Leovet Bio-Skin Oil (500ml, £19.76) are the two lines here for skin that needs extra attention. If the skin is broken, sore or getting worse, speak to your vet first.
