Description
The Sprenger HS Weymouth Bit features a 16mm Sensogan mouthpiece with a straight bar and slight port, designed to transmit steady, even pressure across the whole tongue width without contact to the sensitive palate. Available in 125mm, 135mm and 145mm mouth sizes, it is a considered choice for horses with a flat palatal arch. The 7cm cheeks produce higher poll pressure with a slightly delayed leverage effect.

Frequently Asked Questions
What sizes does the Sprenger HS Weymouth Bit come in?
The Sprenger HS Weymouth Bit is available in three mouth sizes: 125mm, 135mm and 145mm.
Why should the curb be sized smaller than the snaffle in a double bridle?
Where the curb sits in the horse's mouth, the mouth is narrower, so Sprenger recommend choosing the curb 1/2 to 1 cm smaller than the snaffle to ensure a correct fit.
What is Sensogan and how does it differ from standard stainless steel?
Sensogan is the specific alloy used by Sprenger for this mouthpiece. The product description identifies the mouthpiece material as Sensogan; for detailed alloy composition information, please refer to Sprenger's official documentation.
Why is this bit described as suitable for horses with a flat palatal arch?
The straight bar with slight port is designed so there is no contact with the sensitive palate, making it a considered choice for horses whose palatal arch is flat and therefore more susceptible to pressure from a higher-ported mouthpiece.
How should the chin chain be adjusted on this Weymouth bit?
The chin chain should be adjusted so that the curb can rotate to an angle of approximately 45°, and the side parts should sit close to the corners of the mouth.
