Are Toggi country boots waterproof?
Most of the range is. The Canyon and Canyon Pro are long leather boots built around a Puratex waterproof and breathable membrane, the Quebec is a milled leather boot with a waterproof breathable membrane, and the Columbus is listed as a handmade waterproof country boot with an adjustable Cordura gaiter. The children's Ravine uses the same Puratex waterproof and breathable membrane - which matters when a boot is going to spend its life in wet grass and mud rather than on a dry surface. The Malvern is the exception in feel rather than fault: it is a waxy leather biker-style boot chosen mainly for looks and comfort. Whichever you pick, no leather boot stays waterproof forever - a wipe down after muddy days and a leather conditioner two or three times a year is what keeps the water out.
What is the difference between the Toggi Canyon and the Canyon Pro?
They are close cousins. The Canyon (from £170.70) is the everyday option and gives you the most choice: standard or wide calf, and black or chocolate. The Canyon Pro (£189.31) is stocked in chocolate only, again in standard and wide calf across 36-43EU. Both are handmade long leather riding and country boots with a Puratex waterproof and breathable membrane, a cushioned insock and a lightweight rubber sole, so in practice you are choosing on colour, price and what is in stock. Take the Canyon if you want black or the lower price; take the Canyon Pro if chocolate suits you and you want a size run where every size and both calf fittings are currently available. The £18.61 between them is small compared with how long a leather country boot lasts.
Which Toggi boots suit a wider calf?
Two styles are made in a dedicated wide calf fitting: the Toggi Canyon and the Toggi Canyon Pro. Both list each size twice - once as standard calf and once as wide calf - so you choose the fitting at the same time as the size. Measure around the widest part of your calf, in the socks you actually ride in, before you order. If you are between the two fittings, get in touch and our team will help.
Are there Toggi country boots for children?
Yes - the Toggi Ravine Childs Leather Country Boots, from £118.11 in bitter chocolate, currently in stock in 33-37EU. They are a leather waterproof boot in a child's size run, so they suit a pony club rider who wants one pair for the yard and for walking rather than a separate riding boot and welly.
How should country boots fit?
A country boot should feel snug across the instep with a little room at the toe, because leather relaxes with wear. Try them on with the thickness of sock you will ride or work in - a thin sock in a boot fitted around a thick one will slip at the heel. Toggi sizes here are given in EU, so if you normally wear a UK 5 you are usually looking at a 38EU, and a UK 8 is usually a 42EU; check the sizes listed on the product page before ordering. Tall boots also need the calf measurement taken, not guessed.
Is there a cheaper way into Toggi boots?
There is one clearance listing in this collection: a Grade A pair of Toggi Canyon Pro Country Boots in 38EU standard calf chocolate at £65.54. The listing grades the boots themselves as Grade A and records the only fault as a damaged box, and because it is a single specific pair it is 38EU standard calf only - once it is gone, it is gone. If that is your size, it is by far the cheapest Toggi country boot on this page.
Toggi country boots FAQs
How much do Toggi country boots cost?
Adult Toggi country boots on this page start at £170.70 for the Toggi Canyon and Toggi Quebec, rising to £189.31 for the Canyon Pro, £222.55 for the Malvern and £247.61 for the Columbus. Children's Toggi Ravine boots start at £118.11. There is also one Grade A clearance pair of Canyon Pro in 38EU standard calf chocolate at £65.54.
Can you ride in Toggi country boots?
Some of them, yes. The Canyon and the Canyon Pro are both listed as suitable for riding as well as country walking, and the children's Ravine is described as suitable for use in and out of the saddle. The Quebec, Columbus and Malvern are sold as country boots rather than riding boots, so treat those as yard and walking boots first. Check the heel and tread against your stirrup irons, and if you ride in narrow-treaded irons a smoother-soled boot is the safer pairing. For competition, always check the rules for your discipline first.
Do Toggi country boots come in wide calf?
The Toggi Canyon and the Toggi Canyon Pro are both offered in standard calf and wide calf across 36-43EU, so you pick the calf fitting at the same time as your size. The Quebec, Columbus, Malvern and children's Ravine come in a single calf fitting per size.
What is the largest size of Toggi country boot available?
The Toggi Quebec Country Boots have the longest size run in stock here, reaching 46EU. The Columbus is in stock up to 44EU, and the Canyon and Canyon Pro both run to 43EU. If your size shows as sold out, get in touch and our team will help you check when it is due back.
How do I look after leather country boots?
Knock the worst of the mud off while it is still wet, wipe the leather with a damp cloth, then let the boots dry slowly away from radiators and heaters - fast heat is what cracks leather. Feed them with a leather conditioner or waterproofing wax every few months, more often over a wet winter, and store them upright with boot trees or a rolled towel inside so the leg does not collapse and crease.
Which Toggi boots are best for children?
The Toggi Ravine Childs Leather Country Boots, from £118.11 and currently in stock in 33-37EU bitter chocolate, are the children's option in this collection. They are a waterproof leather boot in a child's size run, so one pair covers the yard, the walk and general winter wear. Leave a little growing room but not so much that the heel lifts when they walk.
