Gilet FAQs
What is the difference between a gilet and a body warmer?
Nothing: they are two names for the same sleeveless jacket. "Gilet" is the more common word in equestrian shops.
Can I ride in a gilet?
Yes. With no sleeves, your arms stay free for the reins, which is why riders like them. A gilet should still let you move and sit without riding up, so check the fit.
What should I wear under a gilet?
A base layer or riding top works well, and you can add a waterproof over the top when it rains. Leave room for your layers when choosing a size.
