How to choose a lightweight turnout
Two numbers do most of the work: the denier (fabric toughness - higher is stronger) and the fill weight in grams (warmth - higher is warmer). "Lightweight" means a low fill, so these rugs suit mild and wet weather rather than hard frost.

Which fill weight do I need?
A 0G rug is a waterproof rain sheet with no padding - ideal when your horse just needs to stay dry. A 50G or 100G fill adds a little warmth for cooler, breezy days. In this range the Amigo Ripstop 900D Turnout 50G (£73.95) and 100G (£77.95) are the natural next steps up from the 0G.

How do I measure my horse for a turnout?
Measure from the centre of the chest, along the side and around to the point of the tail. That length in feet and inches is your rug size (for example 5ft 9). If your horse falls between two sizes, or you're unsure, get in touch and our team will help you choose.
Are these rugs fully waterproof?
Yes - every turnout in this range has a waterproof, breathable outer designed for field use. The denier (900D, 1200D or 1680D) tells you how tough the outer fabric is: higher numbers resist rips and rough play better, which is worth considering for boisterous horses.
