Leather Headcollars
Leather headcollars look smart, soften with use and last for years with a little care. Leather will also break under extreme pressure, which is why many owners prefer leather — or a headcollar with a leather breakaway strap — for turnout and travelling.
Getting The Right Fit
- Sizes usually run pony, cob, full and extra full. The noseband should sit about two fingers below the cheekbone, with two fingers' room underneath.
- Check the buckles and stitching regularly, and clean and condition the leather so it stays supple.
