LeMieux Artisan Mixed Bristle Brush - Extra Grooming Power for Stubborn Dirt

The LeMieux Artisan Mixed Bristle Brush is a horse grooming brush that combines natural bristles with fine copper wire bristles to remove stubborn, ingrained dirt and dried mud from the coat. It is best for horses and ponies with thicker, unclipped coats, particularly those living out over winter and coming in muddy from turnout.

For when your groom needs a little added 'oomph', this brush sits between a stiff dandy brush and a soft body brush in feel. It is not recommended for use on sensitive or fine coats, or on horses that have recently been clipped, so keep a softer brush in the kit alongside it. You can find more brushes and kit in our grooming collection.

FAQ

What is the LeMieux Artisan Mixed Bristle Brush used for?
It is used to remove stubborn dirt and dried mud from a horse's coat. The natural bristles sweep the coat while the fine copper wire bristles help break up ingrained grime.

Can I use it on a clipped horse?
No. The brush is not recommended for use on sensitive or fine coats, or on horses that have recently been clipped. Use a soft body brush on those coats instead.

Is it suitable for ponies and cobs?
Yes. It suits any horse, pony or cob with a thicker, unclipped coat, which makes it particularly useful for natives and horses living out in winter.

Will it match my other Artisan grooming tools?
Yes. It is designed to match the rest of the Artisan range of brushes and grooming tools, so it can be added to an existing set.

How do I clean the brush?
Knock out loose hair after grooming, then wash in warm water with a mild brush cleaner when needed. Dry naturally with the bristles facing down, away from direct heat.

Does it replace a dandy brush or body brush?
It works alongside them. Use this brush for the heaviest dirt, a dandy brush for loose mud and a soft body brush for finishing and sensitive areas.
