What does Gallop Equestrian make?

Gallop Equestrian is a British brand focused on well-priced, hard-wearing kit for the everyday rider and horse owner. Rather than one specialism, the range spans the whole yard: turnout and stable rugs, fly protection, jodhpurs, breeches, riding tights, base layers, leather riding boots, bridles, headcollars, saddle pads and horse boots. The idea is simple — sensible gear that does the job at a price that suits riders buying for a growing child, a first pony, or a busy yard.

The main Gallop ranges we stock

A few names come up again and again across this collection. The Trojan and Trojan Xtra rugs are the core turnout and stable line, sold in a range of weights from lightweight 50g up to a warm 350g. The Ponie range mirrors those rugs in pony and foal sizes. On footwear, Elegance covers leather jodhpur and paddock boots, while the Gateley Country Boot is the taller leather option. Riding wear centres on the Classic Plain and Two Tone jodhpurs plus silicone-seat breeches and tights.

How do I choose a rug weight?

Rug fill is measured in grams (g) — the higher the number, the warmer the rug. As a rough guide, a lightweight 50g rug suits mild, wet autumn and spring days, a 100–200g medium weight covers cooler weather, and a 300–350g heavyweight is for cold winter nights. Clipped horses and those who feel the cold usually need a step up. If you are between weights, it is worth having both a lighter and a heavier option so you can layer as the weather changes.

How do I choose a size?

Rugs are sized in feet and inches along the back (for example 5'6", 6'0"); measure from the centre of the chest to the point of the buttock and round to the nearest size. Jodhpurs, breeches and tights follow standard UK clothing sizes, and boots follow UK shoe sizes — check the size guide on each product page, as fit can vary between styles. If a boot or a bit-related fit feels borderline, it is always worth having it checked by a professional fitter before you ride.

Gallop Equestrian FAQs

How much do Gallop Equestrian products cost?

In-stock Gallop prices currently run from around £3.23 for accessories such as fly fringes, through jodhpurs and saddle pads at roughly £18–£27, up to about £85.21 for the leather Gateley Country Boot. It is one of the better-value equestrian brands we carry.

Is Gallop Equestrian good quality?

Gallop is a value-focused brand, so it aims at dependable, everyday performance rather than premium price tags. It is a popular choice for riders kitting out a growing child, a first pony or a busy yard where kit needs replacing regularly.

What rug weight does my horse need?

As a rough guide, a 50g lightweight suits mild, wet days, a 100–200g medium weight covers cooler weather, and a 300–350g heavyweight is for cold winter nights. Clipped horses usually need a step up. Gallop's Trojan and Trojan Xtra ranges cover these weights, with Ponie versions for smaller sizes.

How do I measure my horse for a Gallop rug?

Measure in a straight line from the centre of the chest to the point of the buttock and round to the nearest rug size in feet and inches (for example 6'0"). If you are between sizes, the larger size is usually the safer choice. Each product page carries its own size guide.

Do you deliver Gallop Equestrian for free?

Yes — UK delivery is free on orders over £50, with next-day dispatch available on eligible items ordered before 4pm. Orders are also covered by our 90-day returns policy.

Can I return Gallop boots or jodhpurs if the size is wrong?

Yes. Unworn items in their original condition can be returned within 90 days. For boots and anything where fit is critical, we'd suggest trying them on indoors on a clean surface first, and having borderline fits checked by a professional before riding.
