Cross country boots protect the legs from knocks and strikes at speed over solid fences, and stay light and secure through water. We stock front and hind XC boots and 4-packs from LeMieux, Shires ARMA, Majyk Equipe and WeatherBeeta.

How To Choose

  • Front and hind: most are sold as separate front and hind pairs, while some come as a 4-pack.
  • Protection: look for a tough strike pad over the tendon and a lining that won't hold water.
  • Fit: the strike pad should sit over the tendon. Try them at home before you go cross country.

Cross Country Boot FAQs

What is the difference between cross country boots and brushing boots?

Cross country boots are built for galloping over solid fences, with tougher strike protection, and they are designed to stay light when wet. Brushing boots are for everyday schooling.

Do I need different front and hind boots?

Yes, most are shaped for front or hind legs, so check you are buying the right pair. A 4-pack gives you both.

How should I look after cross country boots?

Rinse off mud and let them dry after each run, then check the straps and strike pads for wear. Replace any boot with a damaged strap before your next run.
