Description
ThinLine Bitless Noseband Bridle Converter

The ThinLine Bitless Noseband Bridle Converter is a foam-lined leather noseband that attaches to any English or Western headstall and converts it into a bitless bridle in minutes. It is designed for horses that are uncomfortable carrying a bit, horses recovering from mouth injury or dental issues, youngsters being started or restarted, and riders working on balance and a softer contact.

Instead of buying a complete second bridle, you fit the converter to tack you already own and ride with either leather or clip reins. The ThinLine foam lining spreads pressure across the nose and jaw rather than concentrating it in one place, which is what makes it a popular choice for schooling, groundwork and hacking. 2. Remove the bit and existing noseband from your English or Western headstall.
  3. Attach the converter to the headstall, checking the foam-lined side sits against the nose and jaw.
  4. Fasten so the noseband sits above the crease of the mouth, with roughly two fingers between the chin and the leather.
  5. Clip or buckle your reins to the stainless steel D-rings.
  6. Introduce the bitless set-up in an enclosed school at walk before progressing to faster work or hacking out.
  7. Check stitching, buckles and D-rings for wear before each ride, and clean with soap and water as needed.

FAQ

Will this fit my bridle?
Yes - the converter is designed to attach to any English or Western headstall, so you can use the bridle you already own rather than buying a second one.

Should I order Cob or Full?
Measure your horse's current noseband first. Cob adjusts from 22.5 to 25.5 inches and Full adjusts from 23.5 to 27.5 inches. Ordering by horse type alone is the most common reason a converter ends up too tight or sitting too low.

Where should the noseband sit?
It should sit above the crease of the mouth, with roughly two fingers of room between the chin and the leather.

Who is it best for?
It is best for horses that are uncomfortable with a bit, horses recovering from mouth injury or dental issues, youngsters being started or restarted before a bit is introduced, and riders schooling for balance and soft contact.

Can I use my normal reins?
Yes. The stainless steel D-rings accept either leather reins or clip reins.

How do I care for it?
Clean with soap and water. ThinLine cleaners are recommended and harsh chemicals should be avoided. Inspect stitching, buckles and D-rings regularly for wear.

Please note: any change of tack alters how your horse responds to the rein, so introduce a bitless set-up in an enclosed school before hacking out. Always have a riding hat fitted by a trained fitter and replace it after any impact.
