Which Liveryman stud should I choose?
Stud choice comes down to the surface you are riding on. A short, pointed stud bites into ground that has dried out and gone firm; a bigger stud does more work in mud and loose going; a road stud is the one you want when a lot of your work is on tarmac. How many studs do I actually need?
Most riders use one or two studs per shoe, which is why the packs of five in this range work well - you get a spare in the pack for the one that inevitably ends up in the mud. If you use different shapes for inside and outside, buy two packs so you can mix and match on the day. Always have your farrier tap and check the stud holes before the season starts, and ask their advice if your horse has any hoof or limb concerns.

Are Liveryman Studs Road only for roads?
Road studs (5 pack, £7.70) are made for work that involves a lot of tarmac and hacking, where a tall competition stud would be uncomfortable and would wear quickly. If your hacking is mostly on lanes and hard tracks, this is the shape to fit. For faster work on grass, choose a pointed or large stud instead.
How many studs come in a pack?
