The 3M 8835+ is a cup-shaped disposable respirator rated FFP3, protecting the wearer against high levels of fine dust, mists and metal fume. It is best for yard and farm work such as mucking out, sweeping, bedding changes, feed and grain handling, and for workshop tasks where airborne particulates are present.

Unlike a basic nuisance dust mask, the 8835+ has a large high-performance filter area, a robust outer shell and a soft cleanable inner ring, so it can be worn again across another shift once the face seal has been wiped down. The 3M CoolFlow valve vents warm, moist exhaled air, which keeps the inside of the mask cooler and helps stop glasses misting up.

How to Use

1. Check the mask before use — do not wear it if the shell is damaged or distorted, or if the straps are broken.
2. Cup the respirator in your hand with the straps hanging free and hold it under your chin, nosepiece uppermost.
3. Pull the lower strap over your head and position it below the ears, then pull the upper strap over the crown of your head.
4. Adjust the buckles on both straps until the mask sits firmly and comfortably with no slack.
5. Mould the nosepiece to the shape of your nose with the fingertips of both hands to close any gap.
6. Carry out a fit check: cover the front of the mask with both hands and exhale sharply. If air leaks around the edges or the nose, reposition and re-adjust, then check again.
7. After the shift, wipe the soft inner face seal with a 3M 105 face seal cleaning wipe and store the mask in a clean, dry place away from contaminated air.
