The Agri Health Calor Dehorner is a traditional gas type dehorner supplied complete with a 2.5m hose, running on either butane or propane. It is designed for farmers, smallholders and yard staff who need a cordless dehorning iron for routine livestock work where mains power is not available.
Because it is gas fired, it is best for handling systems, crushes and field pens where a corded or battery tool would be impractical. The gas bottle and regulator are not supplied.

How to Use
- Confirm the procedure is lawful for the animal's age and that you are competent to carry it out, following your veterinary surgeon's advice on anaesthesia.
- Inspect the 2.5m hose, fittings and connections for cracks, perishing or leaks before every use.
- Connect the hose to a butane or propane bottle fitted with a suitable regulator and site the bottle clear of the working area.
- Light the dehorner in a well-ventilated space away from bedding, hay, fuel and other combustible material, and allow the head to reach working temperature.
- Restrain the animal securely in a crush or pen and carry out the procedure, wearing gloves and eye protection.
- Turn the gas off at the bottle, let the head cool completely, disconnect the hose, wipe clean and store dry.
