Battles Kelcie's Pickbrush - Combined Hoof Pick and Brush

The Battles Kelcie's Pickbrush is a hoof pick and brush combined on one handle, used to remove packed dirt, bedding and stones from the hoof and then sweep the sole and frog clean. It is best for riders and yard staff who pick out feet daily and want a single tool for the whole job rather than a separate pick and brush.

It suits horses, ponies, cobs and youngsters, and is a sensible first grooming tool for children learning to handle feet under supervision. Browse more grooming essentials in our horse grooming collection.

FAQ

What is the Battles Kelcie's Pickbrush used for?
It is used to clean out horses' hooves. The pick removes packed dirt, bedding and stones, and the brush on the same handle sweeps the sole and frog clean so the foot can be inspected.

Is one hoof pick suitable for both horses and ponies?
Yes. The same tool works on horses, ponies and cobs, shod or barefoot, as hoof picking technique is the same regardless of size.

Why choose a combined pick and brush instead of a plain hoof pick?
A combined tool lets you clear and then sweep the foot without changing tools, which is quicker and easier when you are holding a hoof up with one hand.

How often should hooves be picked out?
Most yards pick out feet at least once a day, and again before and after riding, hacking or travelling.

How do I look after the Pickbrush?
Knock off loose dirt, rinse the pick and bristles after use and allow it to dry fully before storing it in your grooming box.

Is it suitable for children to use?
It can be used by children under adult supervision, provided they are confident handling feet and the horse is used to being picked out.
