Freejump Soft'Up Pro+ Crystal Stirrups

The Freejump Soft'Up Pro+ Crystal is a single-branch riding stirrup with a crystallised finish, designed to absorb shock and reduce load on the rider's joints. It is best for riders who school, hack, jump or compete regularly and want a comfortable, grippy stirrup with an easy foot-release outer branch.

Compared with a conventional two-branch steel stirrup, the single-branch construction reduces effort on each stirrup by one third, while the offset centre of gravity encourages a natural foot inclination and heel-down position. Browse more stirrups to compare options.

Key Features

  • Single-branch suspension design — reduces effort on each stirrup by one third, easing pressure on the rider's joints and the horse's back.
  • Elastollan outer branch — flexible material that deforms to let the branch open for easy foot release in a fall.
  • Freejump Shock Absorption technology — integrated into the single-branch design for optimum shock absorption and comfort.
  • Extra-wide grip tread — comfort and stability underfoot, reinforced by removable steel studs for secure footing.
  • Fibreglass-reinforced tread — enhances durability and longevity for daily use.
  • Offset centre of gravity — promotes natural foot inclination and heel-down positioning.
  • 45 degree angled eye — convenient mounting orientation for easy mounting.
  • Crystallised edition — refined finish that does not compromise function.

How to Use

  1. Thread your stirrup leathers through the 45 degree angled eye, keeping both stirrups oriented the same way.
  2. Run the stirrups up the leathers when leading and tacking up, then run them down before mounting.
  3. Check the stirrup width against your riding boots, leaving clearance either side of the foot so the boot cannot jam.
  4. Check the removable steel studs are present and tight before each ride, and swap them out when worn.
  5. Position the ball of the foot on the wide tread and allow the offset centre of gravity to settle the heel down.
  6. After riding, wipe the tread and branches clean, dry away from direct heat and inspect for damage.

FAQ

What makes the Soft'Up Pro+ Crystal different from a standard stirrup?
It uses a single-branch suspension design instead of two steel branches. This reduces effort on each stirrup by one third and, combined with Freejump Shock Absorption technology, absorbs shock to ease pressure on the rider's joints and the horse's back.

Does the outer branch really open in a fall?
The outer branch is made from Elastollan, a flexible material that deforms so the branch can open and allow easy foot release. Freejump stirrups are not PPE and cannot guarantee rider safety.

Are the studs removable?
Yes. The extra-wide grip tread is reinforced with removable steel studs, so you can replace them as they wear and keep secure footing in varied conditions.

Are these stirrups suitable for daily use?
Yes. The tread is fibreglass-reinforced for durability and longevity, making them suitable for regular schooling, hacking and jumping as well as competition days.

How do I choose the right size?
Match the tread width to the riding boots you wear most. Allow clearance on each side of the boot so the foot can slide out freely, and avoid a width so generous that the foot can slip right through.

How should I care for them?
Wipe clean after use, dry away from direct heat, check the branches and tread for wear before riding, and replace any stirrup that is damaged or has been involved in an impact.
