LeMieux Easy Fit Gel Bit Guards for Horses
Description
LeMieux Easy Fit Gel Bit Guards
LeMieux Easy Fit Gel Bit Guards are soft gel bit rings that sit between the bit ring and the horse's lips to protect the corners of the mouth from pinching and rubbing. They are best for horses that are sensitive in the mouth, and for young or difficult horses in training who are still learning to accept a steady contact.
Unlike a plain rubber guard, the gel moulds around the mouthpiece for closer, softer contact, and it also helps keep the bit straight and balanced in the mouth — especially through turns. They suit most types of bit, so they can move between snaffles as your horse's schooling progresses. Browse more bits and bitting to complete the set-up.

FAQ
What do gel bit guards actually do?
They sit between the bit ring and the lips, cushioning the corners of the mouth so the bit cannot pinch or rub the skin. The gel moulding also helps keep the bit straight and balanced in the mouth.
Will they fit my bit?
They are designed to work with most types of bit. Because the gel moulds around the mouthpiece, they suit loose ring and other common bit designs. Very unusual ring shapes or oversized rings should be checked before fitting.
Do bit guards change the size of bit I need?
The guards take up a small amount of space either side of the mouthpiece, so check the bit still sits level with adequate clearance at each side once fitted. If the bit was already snug, have the fit reassessed.
Are they suitable for young horses?
Yes. They are an invaluable aid when training young or difficult horses, helping the bit stay balanced and reducing rubbing while the horse learns to accept the contact.
How do I clean them?
Rinse in clean water after use to remove saliva and grass residue, wipe dry and store away from direct heat. Inspect regularly and replace if the gel splits or shows wear.
How many are included?
They are supplied as a pair, one for each side of the bit.
