LeMieux Technical Brushing Boots - Low-Profile Leg Protection

The LeMieux Technical Brushing Boot is a slim, stitch-free brushing boot that protects a horse's legs from brushing knocks and scrapes with minimal bulk. It is best for riders who want dependable everyday protection for schooling, flatwork, jumping and lunging without the heaviness of a traditional padded boot.

Designed in collaboration with Evolution Horse, the boot combines nano fused bonded layers, an injection-moulded palm and open cell foam tapered padding to give a robust yet flexible, breathable, barely-there feel on the leg. Browse more horse boots to complete your set.

How to Use

  1. Measure the cannon bone and check the size chart before ordering to avoid a boot that is too short or too long.
  2. Brush the leg clean and dry so no grit is trapped beneath the boot.
  3. Position the boot with the moulded palm over the inside of the leg and the padding sitting below the knee or hock.
  4. Fasten the Duralock closures from the top down, snug enough that the boot will not slip but with no pinching.
  5. Check the fit after a few minutes of work and adjust if the boot has moved.
  6. Remove after riding, brush off dried mud and allow to dry naturally away from direct heat.

FAQ

What are brushing boots used for?
Brushing boots protect the lower leg where one hoof strikes the opposite limb. These LeMieux Technical Brushing Boots guard against brushing knocks and scrapes during schooling, flatwork, jumping, lunging and groundwork.

How do I choose the right size?
Measure the cannon bone from below the knee to just above the fetlock and compare with the size chart. The boot should cover the strike area without catching the knee or fetlock joint, which is the most common reason boots are returned.

Will these boots rub?
The heat-sealed design removes bulky binding and the stitch-free nano fused bonded layers keep the inner surface smooth, both of which reduce rubbing and friction. Always fit boots to clean, dry legs.

Can they be used on front and hind legs?
They are sold in pairs and sized to the leg, so order the pair that matches your measurement for the front or hind legs you wish to protect.

How do I clean them?
Brush off dried mud, wipe the boot over and leave to dry naturally away from direct heat. Keep the hook and loop closures free of hair so they continue to grip.

Are these boots bulky?
No. The open cell foam tapered padding and contoured anatomical shape give a uniquely low-profile silhouette with a barely-there feel.
