LeMieux Tendon Chill Boots Ice Cooling Horse Boots
Description
LeMieux Tendon Chill Boots - Black (Pair)
LeMieux Tendon Chill Boots are freezable ice boots that use Hypo-Freeze Gel to cool a horse's tendons and fetlock joints quickly after work. They are best for riders who want a fast, low-fuss cooling routine after intense exercise, whether that is dressage, jumping, galloping or cross country, at home or away at shows.
The gel stays soft when frozen so it contours around the lower limb for close surface contact, and a swept-up rear section covers the high suspensory area often neglected in other boots. Sold in pairs and suitable for front or hind legs.

How to Use
- Fold the boots flat and place them in the freezer well ahead of use so the gel is fully chilled.
- After intense exercise, remove any brushing or tendon boots and check the legs are clean and dry.
- Wrap a chill boot around each lower leg so the gel sits against the tendons and fetlock, with the swept-up section to the rear over the high suspensory area.
- Fasten snugly enough for close contact, but never tight, and keep your horse where you can see them.
- Leave in place for a short period of 10-20 minutes, then remove and allow the legs to return to normal temperature.
- Wipe the outer fabric clean, allow to dry and return the boots to the freezer ready for next time.
FAQ
How long should chill boots stay on?
LeMieux recommends short periods of 10-20 minutes after intense exercise. Cooling the tendons as soon as possible after work is the priority, rather than leaving the boots on for long spells.
Can they be used on hind legs?
Yes. Tendon Chill Boots can be worn on front or hind legs, so a single pair can be moved between ends as needed.
Do the boots go hard in the freezer?
No. The Hypo-Freeze Gel is designed to remain soft when frozen so it contours around the lower limb and keeps optimum surface contact with the tendons and fetlock joints.
Are they only for eventing and jumping horses?
No. Routine cooling applies just as much to high intensity dressage as it does to galloping, jumping and cross country, so they suit horses in most disciplines.
Are they practical for shows and travelling?
Yes. The boots are low profile and lack bulk, so they fold flat, pack small and can be frozen in confined spaces such as a small yard or lorry freezer.
How do I clean them?
The soft outer fabric acts like a wrap and is easy to manage and clean. Wipe the outer down after use and allow it to dry fully before refreezing.
