Rhinegold Aphrodite Dial To Fit Crystal Trim Riding Hat

The Rhinegold Aphrodite Dial To Fit is a vented, competition-grade riding hat with two rows of 'crystals' around the shell, certified to PAS 015:2011 Kitemark and EN1384:2023 BSI Kitemarked. It is best for riders who want a sparkly, show-ready hat that is accepted in riding schools and at showgrounds, with a rear dial-fit system that adjusts the fit within its range.

A soft feel harness and a removable, washable liner make it practical for daily schooling, lessons, hacking and in-hand work as well as competition days.

How to Use

  1. Have the hat fitted by a trained fitter before first use, taking your head circumference and head shape into account.
  2. Open the rear dial fully, place the hat level on your head so the brim sits just above your eyebrows, and check it is not tipped back.
  3. Turn the dial clockwise until the hat feels snug all round with no pressure points, then check it does not rock or slide when you shake your head.
  4. Fasten the soft feel harness so it sits comfortably under the chin and jaw with room for one finger only.
  5. Re-check the dial each time you ride, especially if you change how you wear your hair.
  6. Remove the liner and wash it as needed, wipe the shell with a damp cloth and mild soap, and allow both to air dry away from direct heat.

FAQ

What safety standard does this riding hat meet?
It is certified to PAS 015:2011 Kitemark and EN1384:2023, BSI Kitemarked.

Is it accepted for competition and riding schools?
The PAS 015 standard is approved and actively preferred by the British Horse Society, The Pony Club, British Dressage and British Showjumping for use in riding schools and at showgrounds. Always check the current rules of your governing body or show organiser before you compete.

How does the dial to fit system work?
A dial at the rear of the hat tightens or loosens the internal cradle within its adjustment range, so you can fine-tune the fit to your head or adapt it as you change your hairstyle.

Do I still need a professional fitting?
Yes. Always have a riding hat fitted by a trained fitter. The dial adjusts fit within a range, but it cannot compensate for the wrong shell size or the wrong head shape, which is the most common reason hats are returned.

Can I wash the hat?
The liner is removable and washable. Wipe the outer shell with a damp cloth and mild soap only, avoid solvents, and let everything air dry away from direct heat.

When should the hat be replaced?
Replace after any impact, even if there is no visible damage, and never use a second-hand hat with an unknown history.
