Description

The Sprenger KK Conrad Weymouth is a KK dressage bit featuring an 18mm Sensogan mouthpiece with a high port that is forward angled to avoid palate pressure. The 7cm cheeks create a leverage effect that is slightly delayed, and the design relieves the middle of the tongue while increasing poll pressure. Available in 120mm, 130mm, and 140mm.

  • 18mm Sensogan mouthpiece
  • High port - forward angled to avoid palate pressure
  • Relieves the middle of the tongue
  • Higher poll pressure due to 7cm cheeks
  • Leverage effect slightly delayed
  • Where the curb chain is attached, the horse's mouth is narrower - the Weymouth should usually be chosen 1/2 to 1 cm smaller than the bradoon
  • It is important that the side parts of the Weymouth sit close to the corners of the mouth
  • The curb chain should be adjusted so the Weymouth can be brought to an angle of approximately 45°

Frequently Asked Questions
What sizes does the Sprenger KK Conrad Weymouth come in?
The KK Conrad Weymouth is available in three sizes: 120mm, 130mm, and 140mm.
What is Sensogan and why is it used in the KK Conrad Weymouth?
Sensogan is the material used for the mouthpiece of this bit. It is the specific alloy Sprenger uses for this model, referenced in the product description as the mouthpiece material.
How should the KK Conrad Weymouth be sized relative to the bradoon?
Because the horse's mouth is narrower where the Weymouth sits, it is generally recommended to choose the Weymouth 1/2 to 1 cm smaller than the bradoon.
How should the curb chain be adjusted on the KK Conrad Weymouth?
The curb chain should be adjusted so that the Weymouth can be brought to an angle of approximately 45°. The side parts should also sit close to the corners of the mouth.
What is the port design of the KK Conrad Weymouth intended to do?
The high port is forward angled specifically to avoid palate pressure and to relieve the middle of the tongue, while the 7cm cheeks increase poll pressure with a slightly delayed leverage effect.
