ThinLine Endurance Dropped Rigging Saddle Pad
Description
ThinLine Endurance Dropped Rigging Saddle Pad
The ThinLine Endurance Dropped Rigging Saddle Pad is a shock-absorbing endurance saddle pad with ThinLine spine panels, a rigging guard, a girth guard and an open pocket for ThinLine Plus Booster Shims. It is made for endurance riders using drop or centre-fire rigging, and it also suits many Australian and Treeless saddles.
Thin, non-slip breathable ThinLine foam is sewn onto the panel to form a continuous support area either side of the spine, helping absorb motion and support a freer, more elevated back over long hours in the saddle. Best for riders who want close contact plus pressure relief at the spine and cinch points, with the option to shim for a more precise fit.
Key Features
- Ultra ThinLine spine panels — thin, shock-absorbing, non-slip breathable foam sewn onto the panel for continuous support on both sides of the spine.
- Open shim pocket — takes ThinLine Plus Booster Shims so thickness can be adjusted for horse and rider comfort.
- Drop rigging guard — dedicated ThinLine protection against pressure and rubs where the cinch contacts the pad.
- Girth guard protection — extra ThinLine at the girth guard helps reduce irritation on longer rides.
- Durable, washable build — heavy-duty quilted cotton with wool fill and a washable synthetic sheepskin base.
- Wide saddle compatibility — fits most drop or centre-fire endurance saddles, plus many Australian and Treeless styles.
- Endorsed by veterinarians, spinal surgeons and master saddlers for horses and riders.

How to Use
- Brush the horse's back clean and check for any existing rubs or sore spots before tacking up.
- Place the pad well forward, then slide it back into position so the hair lies flat and the spine panels sit either side of the backbone.
- Line the rigging guard up with your saddle's drop or centre-fire rigging point so the cinch contacts the guarded area.
- Set the saddle on the pad, then lift the pad slightly into the gullet to keep pressure off the spine.
- If you need more thickness or balance, insert ThinLine Plus Booster Shims into the open pocket and re-check the fit.
- Girth up gradually, ride, then wash and air dry the pad regularly to keep the underside fresh.

FAQ
What saddles does this pad fit?
It is designed to fit most drop or centre-fire endurance saddles and is compatible with many other styles, including Australian and Treeless saddles.
What size is the pad?
The spine length is 27" with a 20" drop to the bottom of the rigging panel, 23" of UltraThinLine along each side of the spine and a 14.5" rear drop. Compare these to your saddle panel length before ordering.
How thick is the ThinLine?
The UltraThinLine panels are 4.7 mm (3/16") thick on both sides of the spine. ThinLine Plus Booster Shims can be ordered separately and added to the open pocket to increase overall thickness.
Can I wash it?
Yes. The pad is designed for regular washing, and the synthetic sheepskin base is washable with lower maintenance than natural fleece. Allow it to air dry fully before the next ride.
Why choose synthetic sheepskin over natural fleece?
The synthetic fleece gives soft, breathable contact against the horse while being easier to launder and quicker to care for between long rides.
Does the shim pocket change the fit?
The open pocket lets you fine-tune thickness without changing pad size, so you can adjust balance for an individual horse while keeping the spine, rigging and girth protection in place.
