Unlike a standard numnah, this pad combines a perforated neoprene base for shock absorption with four shim pockets - two on each side - so you can adjust balance as your horse's shape changes through fitness work, seasons or rehabilitation. Two sets of 5mm shock-absorbing shims are supplied.

How to Use

1. Place the half pad on the horse's back so the Merino+ front roll sits just in front of the saddle and clear of the withers.
2. Position your saddle on top, then lift the pad up into the saddle gullet so it does not press on the spine.
3. Pass the girth straps or billets through the reinforced faux leather D-ring cutouts to hold the pad in place.
4. Girth up gradually and check the saddle sits level before mounting.
5. If the saddle needs balancing, slide shims into the perforated neoprene pockets - one at a time, evenly or asymmetrically as required - and reassess the fit.
6. Remove the shims after riding and allow the pad to dry naturally before storage.
